Painted engine cover Revised.

When I first got my escape I painted the engine cover red, along with my rear drums and my front calipers. Its a new year, and I decided i needed to refresh the paint to keep it looking new...

But I wanted to be different, I have seen that others have followed suit. Painting their engine covers, so I wanted to go to the next level.

Enjoy....

the red is "FORD RED" high temp spray paint. The yellow is sprayed on Yellow gloss testors model paint, and the black, blue and silver are all brushed on testors model paint..It took a couple of days because Testors paint takes a while to dry...

Looks great. Hope the paint doesn't chip off with the heat.

Did you have to tape all the decals before painting?

Well I painted it over a year ago, left the middle part the stock color, I painted the yellow first. Then hand brushed the rest. I touched up any spots where i dripped on to the yellow with a brush. Then i let it dry. Then I taped over the yellow part, and sprayed red. I taped it so that sticky side was up, so i didnt have to worry about the tape peeling the paint off.
