Re: Cladding: Do It Right

The "flex" paint is made by a couple of different paint companies.
It's just general term for the paint.
I beleive it runs about $175 a quart and you would need 2 maybe 3 quarts to shoot all the cladding.
Plus the primer and clear coat and activator, about another $200.
The biggest cost is paying a body shop to do it.
That can run anywhere from $500 to $1000 depending on the shop and quality of their work.

Re: Cladding: Do It Right

With all of the dollars and work involved this doesn't seem to be worth it. Especially if the paint won't be very durable anyway. Don't RAV4's have painted bumpers?

Painted bumpers

Just checked "MyPictures" here on my computer, The Jeep Liberty Limited has painted bumpers, as do many other small SUV's competing against the Escape. Will these paints hold up? are they applied in some way that Ford does not use? (question to Ford Tek guys).

Nice Pictures!

To all: Great looking Custom jobs. Could someone give a list of the custom shops available that have done these Escapes?

Re: Painted bumpers

To Joseph and Erick etc about the painted bumpers: I have had an old Grand Am with painted bumpers. It was 10 years old and no problem with the paint coming off the bumpers. The fabric came off the seats, the interior roof material came off the roof, but the paint, no problem.

If done right, painted bumpers should be very do-able (is this a word? ) and durable.

White Custom Escape pic

I like the look of the White custom Escape pictured. Which auto show & date was this shown at? Did you take the pictures or are they from the customizer of the Escape?

You have some of the best emotion picture. Did you draw them or they on here some where? When I went to help ezboard said something about using theirs, but they didn't tell me where they were.

Escape Custom Pictures

Is there a list somewhere on this web-site of equipment makers or accessory providers who make the add-ons for the Escapes shown in these custom pictures? Thanks.

Painting your Escape & Escape Links

You might check the Escpe Options and the Escape Modifications forums up above here at Escape Central I think I read there that a few members were considering painting their Escape cladding and some of the recommendations about doing that.

To answer the other question, there is are a few links to Escape after-market manufacturers if you go back to the main Escape-Central.com homepage and click on links. Also on that list on the left side is a direct link to Escape-Parts.com which has some neat Escape add-on items.

Re: @#%$ ESCAPE PICTURES

Have you tried Escape-Parts.com? NewSecret? I have not looked at that link in awhile, but they seem to have quite a few of the things featured on the main site here in the pictures for sale.
