Hello,

I am having a problem with my 2001 Ford Escape Lift Gate Actuator. Some Times it works and some times it does not work.

Does any one have the part number for this Actuator?

Does any one know how much it cost?

Thank you in advance for all your help!!!!

2001 Ford Escape Lift Gate Actuator

The part I am talking about is the solenoid that when you press unlock doors on the remote that unlocks the lift gate and the liftgate window so when you pull the window or hatch handle on the ligt gate they open.

Oh that. The liftgate door lock actuator is 7L8Z-7843400-AA, $165.30. I don't have a labour rate listed for that particular part.

is that the right part number for a 2001 escape?

The partnumber I got from my 2001 - 2002 Work Shop Information
June 2001
Version 12.0
isF87Z-7843432-CA

When I did searches on various web sites the part number matched up and I received prices from $96.90 to $109.68

That's not the part number I have listed in the Mitchell database, dated 1st quarter 2007. Give a call to some dealerships and confirm the part number and pricing.

Mine stopped working inconsistently last year. So I took off the plastic interior hatch cover and marked a square off and cut through it. So I could climb over the back seat and open it manually from the inside. Seems difficult and out of the way, but it was cheaper than 200 bucks.

I had this happen to me, so I opened the lift gate and took off the plastic panel there are a few adjustments that can be made that could possibly solve your problem. I wish I could remember more, but ever since I made the adjustments my rear hatch has performed flawlessly

^^^ Are you sure this is the same part? For over $100 less?
This problem is starting to occur more often now, and if I don't fix it soon I'm driving it off a short pier! ARGH!
